An important part of selling your house is making sure that every potential buyer has a wonderful experience in the home! Here are a few things that you should do to make sure they come away wowed!
Whether it's summer or winter, make sure the outside of your house is show ready! Keep the grass trimmed, or the snow cleared.
Smell is a big thing for people! It's one of the first things someone notices when they walk in to your house! Make sure you have a candle or diffuser going. Lemon, sugar cookie, or vanilla are all good "go to" scents. Always avoid sprays or plugin scents.
Turn on all the lights in the house ahead of showings! Walking into a fully lit home helps prospective buyers feel like they're walking into a space that's more inviting. You should also have all curtains and blinds open. If you angle the blinds slightly up towards the ceiling, it will make a room feel larger.
Add some ambiance to your space! Music is a great way to set the tone; try having it playing in any living room and family room spaces.
Here's a playlist for you to use!
Make sure small clutter is put away! One of our favorite tips is to keep a tote or two in your front closet that you can easily toss things into. If the kids left toys or handheld gaming systems out on the couch, toss them in the totes quick for an easy cleanup before showings.
When a showing is requested, you have to respond quickly and be willing to be inconvenienced a bit. Showing requests should be approved within an hour of the time they're made and you may have to leave your house on short notice. Buyers today expect thing to move quickly and, if they don't, they will lose interest in your house before they even see it.
